Order Management Specialist
The Order Management Specialist supports high-volume sales order execution within a fast-paced Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely order release and fulfillment while coordinating with internal teams and third-party logistics (3PL) partners. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven setting, and a willingness to learn retailer-specific requirements common to many of MaryRuth's retail customers. This is a full-time, paid, hourly, remote position. This role will need to work a shift aligned with a U.S. time zone.
Responsibilities
Review and release high-volume sales orders to 3PL partners in accordance with CPG fulfillment priorities and service level expectations.
Inspect and confirm sales order data such as customer name, distribution center and address, stock keeping units, pricing, quantities, receipt and requested delivery dates, and inventory availability.
Perform basic sales order updates and communicate any order adjustments, shortages, or changes to relevant Supply Chain and Sales & Retail teams.
Identify and flag orders at risk due to inventory constraints, capacity limitations, or timing issues; follow processes to escalate to senior team members.
Learn and apply retailer-specific requirements including acknowledgements via EDI/email, order minimums, case packs, and similar data.
Maintain fulfillment tracking tools and dashboards, ensuring consistent data accuracy and visibility.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Some travel (<5%) may be required on an as-needed basis, with advance notice provided to the employee.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience) strongly preferred.
Academic or professional experience to CPG, retail, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum advanced basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfort working in Microsoft 365 or Google Suite.
Experience with project management platforms (e.g. Asana), ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite), or order management systems ideal.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; professional working level of fluency in English required.
Ability to follow established processes while recognizing issues that require escalations.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
This role involves sitting most of the time but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
