Live Selling Specialist (Hybrid- Los Angeles, CA)
The Live Selling Specialist owns the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of MaryRuth’s 24/7 TikTok Shop livestreaming program. This role will serve as the owner and lead for the program, managing the live streamer calendar, serving as the primary point of contact for all streamer needs, developing the streamer training systems, scripts, and coaching frameworks, and optimizing livestream performance to drive more GMV per hour.
The Live Selling Specialist is a full-time, exempt, salaried, hybrid role based in Los Angeles, California, with an estimated 50% of time in-person on-site at our TikTok Shop streaming office. The compensation range for this role is $90,000 to $105,000 USD/year.
Responsibilities
Live GMV Performance & Growth
Own hourly livestreaming GMV, including tracking, reporting, and data-driven optimization.
Coordinate the planning and execution of all livestreaming events- scheduling and preparing streamers, managing flash sales multiple times per week, and ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Develop, test, analyze, and scale TikTok live tactics such as auctions, sticker campaigns, giveaways, limited-time offers, and emerging TikTok Shop features
Serve as MaryRuth’s primary point of contact with our TikTok Shop account team to communicate any concerns and discuss platform and program updates and changes.
Determine growth opportunities in expanding our live selling strategy beyond TikTok Shop and own progression into our website, Amazon Live, and additional platforms.
Hosting & Livestreamer Training
Personally host live streams on an as-needed basis, covering training shifts, high-priority brand campaigns, or other events.
Work with the Learning Experience and Marketing teams to build and own a full training system for live sellers, covering onboarding, product knowledge, live sales techniques, brand voice, managing viewer challenges, and staying up to date with platform-specific best practices.
Develop live stream scripts, talking points, and coaching materials, updating based on what is converting on TikTok and other platforms.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with streamers and coach live sellers through both direct on-site feedback and virtual communication through watching lives and recordings, identifying gaps, and giving actionable feedback.
Streamer Sourcing & Roster Management
Lead the sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of skilled, dedicated live selling.
Maintain an organized, up-to-date streamer roster and manage scheduling to ensure 24/7 coverage with minimal gaps.
Clearly communicate expectations, schedules, and logistics clearly to all streamers, serving as their day-to-day point of contact.
Manage and organize streamer payments, maintain accurate records, and work with Finance for payment processing.
Operations & Technology
Coordinate with internal teams and streamers to ensure technical integrity during lives, troubleshooting camera, audio, and connectivity issues.
Maintain the streaming setup at the LA office, monitoring timelines, flag operational bottlenecks, and proactively solve coverage or execution problems before they impact the livestream.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the TikTok Shop and eCommerce teams to align live programming with promotional calendars, product launches, and key tentpole events.
Partner with Growth, Creative, and Performance teams to integrate live content into broader campaign strategy.
Miscellaneous
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Travel (<10%) may be required on an as-needed basis with advance notice provided to the employee.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Los Angeles-based and able to commit to a hybrid schedule (~50% on-site at our LA streaming office).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in live selling, creator coordination, or social commerce, with demonstrated experience growing live GMV and coaching talent is required.
Experience hosting/livestreaming and comfortable on-camera; able to host livestreams as needed.
Strong proficiency with TikTok Shop’s live commerce platform (TikTok LIVE Center), including promotional tools (auctions, stickers, giveaways), and algorithm behavior is required; familiarity with other live commerce platforms such as Amazon Live or website-integrated live selling preferred.
Proven expertise in coaching or managing live sales talent; able to give direct, actionable feedback to align streamers with company values and ensure compliance.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data tracking and reporting; skilled in TikTok Shop Seller Center analytics.
Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with project management tools (e.g. Asana), communication platforms (e.g. Slack), and file/asset management tools (e.g. Drive, SharePoint, DropBox, Frame.io) is strongly preferred.
Intermediate to advanced competence in technical troubleshooting for livestreaming (setup, camera, audio, connectivity).

Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
This role involves sitting most of the time but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
